Time Distance and Speed
A person meets a train at a railway station coming daily at a particular time.One day he is late by 25 minute, and he meet the train 5 km before the station.If his speed is 12 kmph,
what is the speed of the train.
Read Solution (Total 10)
-
- relative speed=5/(25/60)
hence relative speed =5*60/25=12kmph
speed of the train -speed of the man=relative speed
x-12=12->x=24kmph(x is the speed of the train) - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(9) No(1)
- In 25 minutes train travels a distance of 5 km....
1 hr=60 min
x hr=25 min
x=5/12hr
speed=distance/time
speed=5/(5/12)
speed=12km/hr - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(2)

{ duri= 5 km, samay= 25 minute (25/60 hour)
chal= 5*60/25
=12 kmph

- 25 min=5/12 hr
speed1=dist/time=5/(5/12)=12kmph
both train and man are in same direction so,speed of the train=speed1+speed of man=12+12=24 kmph - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
