M men agree to purchase a gift for Rs. D. If three men drop out how much more will each have to contribute towards the purchase of the gift ?
Read Solution (Total 5)
-
- initial contribution = D/M
final contribution = D/(M-3)
Difference = D/(M-3) - D/M
=>Difference =D[{M - (M-3)}/{M X (M-3)}]
=>Difference= 3D/[M(M-3)]

- Money given by every member(M) is n/-
M*n= D
(M-3)(n+(3n/M-3)) = D
So = 3n/M-3 is extra amount.
Take an ex:
10(100/-) =1000/-
7(100+(300/7)=1000/- - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(3)
- logically,if a group contributes for a gift and 3 of them are absent then the extra contry will be the missing country due to 3 persons divided among the present group members( 3 members excluded)..if n is each person contry and M is total members in group then extra contry will be (3n/M-3)..

- let each member contributes "D" rupees,so total amount contributed by M members=M*D
SO,M*D=(M-3)*(D+X)
MD=MD-3X-3D+MX
3D=(M-3)*X
X=3D/(M-3) MORE
