- (20+x)*25/100=(2+x)
so x=4

- this problem can easily be solved using allegation...
solution containing 10% of water has to be mixed with solution containing 100% water
10% 100%
25%
75% 15% therefore the ratio is 5:1... that is fr 5 parts of 10% solution we have to add 1 part of 100% solution.
(20/5)*1 = 4ltrs - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
- 25x20/100= 5 Ltr.

- 10% (20) = 2
(2 + x)/( 20+ x) = 25/100
so x = 4 litre - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- water...(10/100)*20 = 2 liter
2 lit..............................10/100
???....................................25/100
so ?*10/100 = 2*25/100
answer is 5 but out of 5 liters we should add 3 liters to make the solution containing 25% of water
proof: already it has 10% water + (3/20)*100.............15% =25% - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Sorry.. I think answer 3 lit is wrong because once extra water is added to the solution then automatically solution level will be increased
I calculated with out incrementing the solution level
20 lit + x.................... 100
2 lit + x....................... 25
25(20+x) = 100(2+x)
X = 4 lit - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
