Solve each of the following systems by substitution

5x - 2y = -5
y - 5x = 3

Please help, I understand the addition method but not the substitution

• from eqn 1
  we have
  5x=2y-5
  so we can substitute the value of 5x in eqn 2 by (2y-5)
  as
  y-(2y-5)=3
  -y+5=3
  y=2
  Hence we can find the value of x
