Two women were selling marbles in the market-one at 3 for a paise and other at 2 for a paise.one day both of them were obliged to return
home when each had 30 marbles unsold.they put together the 2 lots of marbles and hanling them over to a friend asked her to sell them at 5 for 2 paise. Now they were expecting to get 25 paise for the marbles as they would have got if sold separately. but much to their surprise they got only 24 paise for the entire lot.where did the 1 paise go? can u explain the mystery?

- They had each 30 marbles unsold.
So 30 + 30 = 60 marbles.
If they sold separately one got 15 paise (2 for one paise)
and 10 paise (3 for one paise) so totally 15+10=25 paise.
Since both are sold by combining ...the friend asking 5 for 2 paise
Both combining they had 60 marbles
5 for 2 which means 5 marbles 2 paise they had 12 group of 5 marbles (60/5)
So 12 * 2 = 24paise ...,
1 paise is gone for the friend.
