In a 20 liter mixture of milk and water, the ratio of milk and water is 3:1. How much milk is to be mixed with the mixture so as to make the ratio 4:1.

  let "m" be the extra amount of milk added....
  then....
  (1/4)*20=(1/5)*(20+m)
  solving... m=5 liter

• in 20 litr milk is = 3*20/4=15
  so in 4:1 milk will be=20*4/5= 16 litr

  so 4:1 mix extra milk is X
  15+x=(20/5)*4
  15+X=16
  so X=1 ltr shoul be add milk to make 4:1 mix
