- let total no of vote=x
according to the question candidate who got 40% vote, defeated by 15000 votes
that means(no of votes of winner-no of votes for losser=15000)
((60*x)/100)-(40*x)/100)=15000
after solving we got x=75000
no of vote polled by winning candidate=((3*75000)/5)=45000 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- two candidates one got 40% means another 60%.difference between them is 15000 votes and 20%[60%-40%] so equate them.20%=15000 so .............. 1%=750votes so total 100% votes =750*100=75000 votes so x+y=75000, x-y=15000 by solving winnigng candidate got 45000 votes
