After replacing an old member by a new member, it was found that the average age of five members of a club is the same as it was 3 years ago.What is the difference between the ages of the replaced and the new member?

3 years before there age was 10,11,12,13 and 14 hence the average is 12(10+11+12+13+14/5=60/5=12).
now if the oldest man 17 is replaced by 2 the the average is become same as three years ago the are .
as (13+14+15+16+2)/5 = 60/5=12.
hence the difference between the ages of the replaced and the new member is 17-2=15.

so,
x= (5x+15-o+n)/5 where o = age of older person, n= age of the new person,
