If the sum of two numbers is 22 and the sum of their squares is 404, then the product of the numbers is

  1st we take option A)40
  let the multiplication of 2 number we get 20*2=40 and also 5*8=40 or 4*10=40..
  so therefore as for question we take 2number for their sum 20+2=22 ,as for question,then the square of 2 number is like that { (20)^2+(2)^2} =404.. so the question answer is matched..

  x^2+y^2 = 404
  now (x+y)^2 = x^2+y^2+2xy
  so 22^2 = 404 + 2xy
