• let the salary be x ,therefore house rent =2x/5,food=3x/10,conveyence=x/8.
  it is given that left over salary is 1400/-
  so,x-(2x/5+3x/10+x/10)=1400
  by solving x=8000
  expenditure on food=3200 and conveyence=1000
