  that means all he spent and left over money=salary
  (2/5)x+(3/10)x+(1/8)x+1400=x

  1400=x*(1-[2/5 +3/10+1/8])
  1400=x(1- 33/40)
  x= 1400*40/7 = 8000
  Expenditure on food and conveyance = 8000*3/10+ 8000*1/8 = 2400+1000 = 3400
