thus my answer will be 12+3=15 as till 12 we are getting 12-11=1, so the difference between 12 and the next number in this series must be 3.

No at odd position is increasing by 3 = previous term+3. (3 , 4+3 , 8+3 , 12+3 , ....)
No at even position has increasing by 1 = previous term+1. (4 , 7+1 , 11+1 , ....)
6 terms are given and we have to find out 7th term that is no at odd position
so it will be = previous term+3 = 12+3 = 15
