Time Distance and Speed
A train 108 m long moving at a speed of 50 kmph crosses a train 112 m long coming from opp direction in 6 seconds.The speed of the second train is
a)48 kmph b)54 kmph c)66 kmph d)82 kmph
Read Solution (Total 1)
-
- both trains are moving in opposite direction means we need to add their speeds.
i.e: 1st train speed is = 50kmph
let the 2nd train speed = x kmph
relative speed = (50+x) kmph
= (50+x)* 5/18
= (250+5x)/18 m/sec
Distance covered by two trains = 108+112
= 220m
therefore, 220/((250+5x)/18) = 6
=> 250+5x=660
=> x=82km/hr. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
