One family went for a vacation, totally 13 days rained. If rain comes in evening they wont enjoy next day morning & vice versa. 14 days evening & 12 days morning they enjoyed then total days?

• Ans: 19.5 days
  Initial hypothesis : 13+x days (where 13 rained days , x not rained days)
  All the 13 days can not contribute to evening or morning.
  So these 13 days should contribute to both morning and evening count.
  Second Hypothesis: At-least half a day should go non-enjoyed during theses 13 days.
  So effectively 13 days contribute to either 6 morning and 7 evening or 7 morning and 6 evening.
  As the total number of evenings given is more than the morning, let us assume that 6 morning and 7 evening.
  Conclusion 1: 13 days contributes to 6 mornings and 7 evenings.
  Now it is to solve x:
  x should contribute to exactly 6 mornings and and 7 evenings (6.5 days) to make the equation hold.
  Hence the total days is 19.5.
