Let Jack's age = x
And Ana's age, y = x+5---->(1)
Sum of their ages, x+y = 29----->(2)
substitute equation 1 in 2,
x+(x+5)=29
2x+5=29
2x=29-5
2x=24 ==>x=12(Jack's age)
Substitute x value in equation 1,
y= x+5
y= 12+5
y=17(Ana's age)
