A group of workers can do a piece of work in 24 days. However as 7 of them were absent it took 30 days to complete the work. How many people actually worked on the job to complete it?

now
x-7 workers can complete the work in 30 days
so 1 workers can complete the work in 30(x-7) days

24x = 30(x-7)

Therefore, actual number of workers = x-7.
We know that the number of manhours required to do the job is the same in both the cases.
Therefore, x (24) = (x-7).30
24x = 30x - 210
6x = 210
x = 35.

above to value state that 7 person does 4.17-3.33 =0.84% in 1 days
1 person does in one days=0.84/7=0.12%
if the 100 % work done in one days requred person=100/0.12=833 man
if total days is 24 to do 100 % work requre person=833/24=34.7775=35 approx;
so total person need for done work in 24 days=35
so total person need for done work in 30 days=28
