A big cube painted red on all the sides. It was cut into 27 smaller cubes by 6 straight lines. How many of the smaller cubes painted on all 3 sides, on 2 sides, on 1 side and no faces painted?

- as 27 small cubes to be of same volume then
A(side of big cube) = 3*a(side of small cude)
so we can take side of small cubes to be 1 cm , then side of big cube = 3cm, and volume becomes 27cm cube.
then taking a cube of 27cm cube the first dividing it into 3parts(with three straight lines) with three lines and then dividing into again into three part with three line each producing 9 parts, 27 parts at total.
NOW
1)SIDES WITH 3 SIDES PAINTED IS PRODUCED BE 8 CORNERS. SO ANSWER FOR FIRST IS 8

- The Cube is cut 3 times horizontally and 3 times vertically to get 27 cubes
so n=3
no of smaller cubes with 3 sides painted= 8 always
no of smaller cubes with 2 sides painted= 12*(n-2)--->12*(3-2)= 12
no of smaller cubes with 1 side painted= 6*(n-2)^2--->6*(3-2)^2= 6
no of smaller cubes with no sides painted= (n-2)^3=1
