If the square root of the product of three positive integers is equal to the largest of the three integers, what is the product of two smaller numbers ?
(1) the largest number of the three distinct numbers is 36
(2) the average(arithmetic mean) of three numbers is 17
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- let 3 number be a,b,c
let largest number=c
according to question (a*b*c)^(1/2)=c
a*b*c=c^2
a*b=c
since largest number c=36 (given)
then
a*b=36
also
in 2 nd part (a+b+c)/3=17
a+b+c=51
since c=36
a+b=15
and from above a*b =36 which is required ans
which satisfied by 2nd conditation
two smallest no. is 3,12,
hence product of two smallest number is 36 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(11) No(2)
- Number are X,Y,Z
sq-rt X*Y*Z = X
Largest no is 36 so
sq-rt 36*Y*Z = 36
Y*Z should be 36
also we have (X+Y+Z)/3 = 17
X+Y+Z = 51
36+Y+Z = 51
Y+Z = 15
so Y+Z= 15 & Y*Z = 36
Y=12, Z= 3
