There are 500 candies. If 350 have sprinkles and 300 have chocolate chips, and at least 60 have neither sprinkles nor chocolate chips, the number of candies that have both is in this range:
a)40 and 120
b)80 and 180
c)180 and 320
d)210 and 300
e)300 and 350

- I'm doing this math after a long time - have forgotten any relevant technical formulae. However, I've tried reasoning this out using a Venn diagram/equation built from it.
As a result, my answer came to 210 - assuming 60 candies have neither sprinkles nor choc chips. That removes A, B and possibly C as viable options.
What I paid attention to were the words "at least 60" - meaning that number could be higher. From there, I just tried random substitution with higher numbers.
But you can only go so high before the given bounds (about sprinkles and choc chips) get violated. For me, that limit was 300.
So my answer is D. 210 and 300
Would really appreciate anyone's feedback asap...
Thank you
