A can do a certain work in the same time in which B and C together can do it. If A and B together could do it in 10 days and C alone in 50 days, then B alone could do it in how many days?

• A+B=10
  C=50
  lcm of these numbers 50 units
  so A+B=5 units/day
  C= 1 units/day
  ------------------
  A+B+C=6 units/day...........(i)
  given that ,B+C=A
  so put this value in equation i
  2A=6,
  A=3 units/day
  now we have
  A+B+C=6.........(ii)
  A=3,C=1
  put these values in equation (ii)
  3+B+1=6,
  B=2 units/day
  and we have 50 units
  so time taken by B=50/2=25 days ans.........

  LCM (10,50) = 50
  
  Work of 1 day :
  A+B = 50 / 10 = 5 units
  C = 50 / 50 = 1 units
  
  work done in 1 day when A,B & C work together :
  
  A+B+C = 5+1 = 6 units
  
  Since work done by A is equal to work done by B & C
  
  therefore,
  A = 6 / 2 = 3 units
  
  therefore, B+C = 3
  
  1 day work of C is 1 units
  
  therefore , B's one day work is 2 units
  
  50 / 2 = 25 days
