Time Distance and Speed
In a 100 m race, A beats B by 10 m and C by 13 m. In a race of 180 m, B will beat C by:
A. 5.4 m B. 4.5 m
C. 5 m D. 6 m
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- D.6m
speed of A, B and C be s1,s2 and s3 resp.
then, for 100m race,
100=s1*t
90=s2*t
87=s3*t(t= time taken by A to complete race)
from here, we get ratio of speeds of B and C
s2/s3=90/87=30/29
for 180m race,
180=s2*T
(180-x)=s3*T(T= B's time to complete race, x= distance between B&C)
x=6m - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(2)
- here at time t
a=100 m ,b=90 m,c=87 m
now
b beats c by 3 m in 90 m coz at that time b=90 & c=87
90 m = 3 m
1 m = 3/90
for 180 m race
180 m=(3/90)*180
= 6m
