A box of 150 packets consists of 1kg packets and 2kg packets. Total weight of box is 264kg. How many 2kg packets are there?
(a) 100 (b) 114 (c) 200 (d) 208
Read Solution (Total 4)
-
- x+y=150
x+2y=264
hence y = 114 = no. of 2 kg packets
- 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(1)
- let x=1kg packet
y=2kg packet
total no. of packets x + y = 150
total weight of packets 1x + 2y = 264
on solving we get y = 114 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(1)
- Ans b) 114
Let the no of 1 kg packets be n1 and no. of 2 kg packet be n2
Given that n1+n2=150
Since the total weight be 264 kg
we can form n1(1)+n2(2) = 264
sub n2 =150-n1 in the above equation , we get
n1 + 2(150-n1)=264
n1+300-2n1=264
n1 = 36
n2 = 114 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(2)
- let no of 2kg packets are x,
so 1kg packets are (150-x)
then total weight of the box is 2*x+(150-x)*1 kg
now 2*x+(150-x)*1=264
=> x=264-150=114 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
