Two trains are traveling at 18kmph and are 60 km apart. There is fly in the train. it flies at 80 kmph. It flies and hits the second train and then it starts to oscillate between the two trains. At one instance when the two trains collide it dies. Distance traveled by the fly when both trains collide is?

- distance between two trains = 60 km
speed = 18km/h
travelling towards each other
so speed = 36 km/h ( speed will be added)
time to collide = 60/36= 5/3 hours.
speed of fly = 80 km/h
time it shuttles = 5/3 hours
distance = speed * time = 80*5/3 = 400/3 kms - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(15) No(3)
- 12 kms
distance travelled = 80*60/(18+18)= 80*60/36 = 400/3 kms - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(15)
- ans says 12 km.....the distance goes on decreasing as train approaches

- time taken by train to collide each other is 60/(18+18)=60/36 hr.
inthis time fly is travelling at a constant sprrd of 80 km/hr so distance travelled by the fly is 60/36*80=400/3 ans - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(3)
