There are n urns and m balls. If we put 3 balls in each urn 3 balls will be excess. If we put 4 balls in each urn 1 urn will be excess. Find no. of Urns (or) Balls?
Read Solution (Total 3)
-
- urn=2
ball=9
first condition
2urn * 3 ball +3=total ball(9).
second case
2urn * 4 ball +1= total ball(9).
so that
urn=2
ball=9 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(1)
- 7 Urns & 24 Balls.
Let, n = No. of Urns ; m = No. of balls
3n+3 = m---------->(1)
4(n-1)= m---------->(2)
=>4n-4 = 3n+3;
=>4n-3n= 4+3
n = 7
Put n=7 in eqn(1)
=> 3(7)+3 = m
21+3 = m
m=24; - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(3)
- 3n+3=4n+1
n=2
no. of balls =9 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
