if F is a 5 digit number that is divisible by 4 from number 1,2,3,4,5,6 and S is the 6 digit no that is divisible 4 from number 1,2,3,4,5,6. if in both cases repetition not allowed.then what is the value of (S-F)...?

- Divisibility Rules for 4 = If the last two digits of a whole number are divisible by 4, then the entire number is divisible by 4
Series = 1,2,3,4,5,6
Numbers that are divisible by 4 are = 12,16,24,32,36,52,56, 64.....44 is omited as Repetation is not allowed.. So there are 8 numbers
F [ 5 digit number] = ABCDE Then this DE part must be divisible by 4...AND must be any from these 8 numbers AND the ABC part can be chosen in 4*3*2 = 24 ways....
Total value of F OR total number of ways = 24*8 =192
S [6 digit number] = ABCDEF ...Here EF part must be divisible by 4...AND must be any from these 8 numbers AND the ABCD part can be chosen in 4*3*2 = 24 ways
Total value of S OR total number of ways = 24*8 =192
Hence S-F =0

- divisible by 4 the numbers are 1,2 -1,6 - 2,4 - 3,2 - 3,6 - 5,2, - 5,6
so for the value of F are 5 digit no-2*3*4=24
now 24 * divisible by 4 => 24 *7=168
now the value of S are 6 digit number-1*2*3*4=24
now 24 * divisible by 4 => 24*7=168
SO t=value of S-F=0 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(15) No(1)
- out of no. 1,2,3,4,5,6 only 2,4,6 is on unit place(because it is divisible by 4);
so in case of F make 5 digit no. i.e 5*4*3*2*3! (3! means out of 2,4,6 only one is at a time)=720;
in caseof S make 6 digit no. i.e 5*4*3*2*1*3!=720;
according to que S-F=720-720=0 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(3)
- I think Question is wrong.
S is a 6digit number and F is a 5digit number according to the question
Then S-F has either 6digits or 5digits. How could it be 24 48 or 0? Can anyone plz kindly explain? - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
- divisible by 4 the numbers are 1,2 -1,6 - 2,4 - 3,2 - 3,6-4,2 - 5,2, - 5,6-6,4
the number of F(5 digit number) will be 4x3x2x9=216
the number of S(6 digit number) will be 4x3x2x1x9=216
so S-F=216-216=0 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
- ans:0
last 2 digit should have 12,16,24,32,36,56,64
F=2!*3!*4!*7=192*7
S=1!*2!*3!*4!*7=192*7

- @ jitendra! how did u take 42 as a last two digit number which is divisible by 4 ? It is wrong okay the last two digit numbers can be arranged in only 8 ways.
got it!!!!

- if F is number of ways to form a 5 digit number that is divisible by 4 from number 1,2,3,4,5,6 and S is number of ways to form the 6 digit no that is divisible 4 from number 1,2,3,4,5,6. if in both cases repetition not allowed.then what is the value of (S-F)...?

- As per I can think it ans will be 24
As F is 5 digit nos so: 2*2*2*3=24
And S is 6digit nos so: 2*2*2*2*3=48
S-f=24
Plz correct if I did any mistake
Thanks - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(9)
- f can be found out in 7*4*3*2 and s in 7*4*3*2*1 so their difference is zero

- 144.
Divisible by 4 rule is last two digits must be divisible by 4.
By using given numbers 12,16,24,32,36,52,56,54.
Last two digits in 8 ways
5digit number 8*3!=48=F.
6digit number 8*4!=192=S.
S-F=144.
