Two chords AB and CD of a circle whose centre is O,meet at the point P and angle AOC=50 , angle BOD = 40,then the value of Angle BPD is ??
Read Solution (Total 3)
-
- angle BOD =40.Therefore angle BCD =20(angle at any point on the circle for the same arc is half of that at the centre).Similarly as angle AOC=50,angle ABC=25.In triangle PBC,angle BPC=(180-20+25)=135. As angle BPC and BPD make a linear pair, angle BPD = 180-135=45.

- angle B0D=2*angle BPD
therefore, angle BPD= Angle BOD/2=40/2=20
since, the angle subtended by an arc of a circle at the center is double the angle subtended by it at any point on the remaining part of the circumference. - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(18)
