1. There are two water tanks A an B, A is much smaller than B. While water fills at the rate of 1 liter every hour in A, it gets filled up like. 10, 20, 30, 40, 80, 160, ….in tank B. (At the end of first hour, B has 10 liters, second hour it has 20 liters and so no). If tank B is 1/32 filled of the 21 hours, what is total duration of hours required to fill it completely? a) 26 b) 25 c) 5 d) 27
Read Solution (Total 2)

- a)26 hours
Each hour, tank B has filled up like double as 10,20,40......so on
So, by reducing the filled rate of the tank B by half for every hour, we solved it.
So, if Tank B filled 1/32th of tank in 21 hours means,
1/16 should be filled in the time of 22hours
1/8 of the tank has been filled in 23hours
1/4 of tank B has been filled in 24 hours
1/2 of tank B filled in 25 hours
And finally,
tank B filled totally in 26 hours. - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
