- p in 16 days, q in 32 days. let work be 32 units.
So work done by p in 1 day is 2 units and q is 1 unit.
q is starting so on first day 1 unit of wok is done, on 2nd day 2units, 3rd day 1 unit......
1+2+1+2.......10 times means 20 days and work done is 30.
next day q will work 1unit. remaining 1 unit is completed by p in half day.
so 20+1+0.5=21.5 DAYS - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- 43 days take to complete the work.
p can complete a work in 16days = 16days of work.
same work q can complete in 32days. (i.e)Half of the work per day.
= (1/2)*32
= 16days work.
So, totally 32days work.
Work starting by q means,
In 22 days q finishes 11days work.
In 21 days p finishes 21days work.
Totally 32days work finished in 43days.

- 1/32+1/16=3/32
10 pair of days they working so work done=30/32
remaining work=2/32=1/16
work done by q to complete 1/16 work=1/32*16=1/2 day
so totally 20+1/2=41/2 work is completed - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
