Time Distance and Speed
A cycle goes at a speed of 4mph by far the wind and it goes at a speed of 3mph against the wind.
What is the speed of the cycle when there is no wind?

- Let the speed of the cycle be x(no wind) and speed of the wind be y. When both are in same direction speeds add up because wind pushes the cycle by speed y. so x+y=4, Obviously when against it is x-y=3.Solve both, we get x=3.5 [ans]

- x+y=4;
x-y=3;
where x is the speed of cycle
and y is the speed of wind
n solving x=3.5 mph - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
