- Name train of the main line(first train) as train1 and other train as train2.
Now let the man go to the station at 5:00. He catches train1. Now let the man go to the station at 5:01, he catches train2. If he goes at 5:02, he catches train2 again. If he goes at 5:03 he catches train1(train 1 comes again at 5:10 as the freq is 10 min). At 5:04....5:09 (total 7 min) he still catches train1. At 5:10 the situation repeats as from 5:00 so dont take 5:10 into our prob. So in those 10 min total number of times he got first train i.e train1 is 8 times. So probability of catching first train(train1) is - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(1)
