• actually we have to find numbers less than 1000 which have neither a square nor a cube root.
  
  total 37 numbers possible which have either a cube root or a square root.
  
  so total numbers which have neither a square root nor a cube root= 999-37= 962

  so total number possible= 31+9-3= 37
