- min pair of socks would be 3
and max pair of socks would be 15 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(11) No(3)
- Ans: E none of the above.
Answer is 3.
for example if he 1st picks black and 2nd he picks blue and on the 3rd time even if he picks up blue or black he will have a pair. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(8) No(0)

- 3 socks.
3 socks means at least two will be of the same color and the remaining may be the other color. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)

- answer is D...lets take 1st draw is BLUE..then there is a chance of getting BLACK for next 14 draws as there are 14 BLACKS..now we have finished 15 draws..now on 16th draw we will definately get blue..:)

- We usually try to apply worst case scenario(which will be pseudo) and forget to find the optimal feasible solution,
Sufficient condition to get a pair of socks of same color is just 3, because after drawing 2 socks,
In worst case both of them will have different color and the third one to be drawn should make a pair with already available one of that color,
In best case drawing 2 itself would have fetch pair of same color.
So the answer is >2.
2 may be enough, but will not be sure.
3 is enough to get for sure.
16 is sufficient to the get pair of both the colors .
If these kind of question is asked in any interview then the answer should be number of different colors + 1.
That +1 to make pair.
So here the answer is 2+1 = 3 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)

- ans is d bcz if in first case he pick blue then remaining times if he picks blacks 14 black socks gets complted then definately he gets blue only. so at 16 time he gets a pair of same color

- Ans= 16
first 14 is either blue or black.after that 15th is one of the remaining color.

- Answer must be max 3:
in first 2 attempt he will get same type of socks that he will get a pair
or
it comes different in next(3rd) attempt whatever colour he will get that makes the pair of that colour - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Min socks to be taken for one pair is 3.
Max socks to be taken for all 7pairs thats 14 same socks are : 21 . - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
