- As Josh and Freak can do the work on alternately, we can make a period=2day(working by them alternately)
Freak can do in one day is 1/13 work
John can do in one day is 1/8 work
Thus, in one period they can complete 21/104 work(1/8+1/13)
We need to complete 208/104 work( that is 2 such pieces)
Thus , in 9 periods, they can complete 189/104 work
The balance 19/104 shall be done first by Freak and if any work remains to be done shall be completed by Josh
Freak can complete in One day =1/13 work
Thus, the balance work is (19/104-1/13)=11/104work shall be completed by Josh in next day
One work can be completed by Josh in 8 days
Thus, 11/104 work shall be completed in 8*11/104=88/104 days
Finally, they must have completed the work in :
(First 9 periods+Freak,s one day+Josh's 88/104 days+ No. of sundays)
(18 +1+88/104 days+3 sundays)22 and 88/104 days - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
