If a 36 cm thread is used to wrap a book, lengthwise twice and breadth wise once, what is the size of the book?

  let breadth is x and then length is 2x
  then thread length = perimeter of book
  so 36=2(x+2x)
  6x=36
  x=6 cm
  so size of book= 6*12

  many combinations are possible satisfying this equation.

  so length is 12*2=24
