Using only 2, 5, 10, 25 and 50 paise coins, what will be the minimum number of coins required to pay exactly 78 paise, 69 paise and Re 1.01 to three different persons

• 19 coins minimum required.
  
  1.01 = 50 + 25 + 10 +10 + 2 + 2 + 2-->(7 coins)
  69 = 50 + 10 + 5 + 2 + 2 -->(5 coins)
  78 = 50 + 10 + 10 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 -->(7 coins).
  
  Total 19 coins.

• @Ayush: If 25 paisa coin was used then we dont stand a chance to reach 78[50+25+2+2=79 which is not the required amount].The only possible is atleast using others atleast once.
  
  78 = 50 + 10 + 5 + 5 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 -->(7 coins).

  why you haven't use 25 paisa coins for getting 78 ? The question asks for minimum number of coins!
