A hollow cube of size 5cm is taken, with a thickness of 1cm. It is made of smaller cubes of size 1cm. If 4 faces of the outer surface of the cube are painted, totally how many faces of the smaller cubes remains unpainted?

no of hollow cube shared by edge of cube is 12*3 = 36
no of hollow cube shared by face of cube is 6(3*3) = 54
total no of hollow cube is: 8+36+54 = 98
total no of faces is 98*6 = 588
as each face contain 25 cubes so, total no of painted cube is 25*4 = 100
