A bartender gets an ice cube weighing 20 grams from the ice bucket and puts it into an insulated cup containing 100 grams of water at 20 degrees Celsius. Will the ice cube melt completely? What will be the final temperature of the water in the cup?

Let final temperature of the water will be t. Then 20 grams ice will melt and after melting it will gain temperature from 0 to by t degrees.
100 grams of Water will have final temperature t degrees i.e it looses (20-t) degrees.
As heat gained is equal to heat lost,
Quantity of heat = m * s* t
So
20*t = 100*(20-t)
=> 120t = 2000
=> t = 50/3
