Maths Puzzle
Three different numbers are chosen at random from the set {1,2,3,4,5}. The numbers are arranged in increasing order. What is the probability that the resulting sequence is an arithmetic sequence?
Read Solution (Total 4)
-
- 10 combinations are possible out of which 4 can be arranged in AP.
then probability = 4/10 = 0.4 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(1)
- answer is 0.4..{1,2,3},{2,3,4},{3,4,5},{1,3,5} so 4/10=0.4
- 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(3)
- ans =0.4 there are 10 combination of sequence possible using three sequence arranged in incresig order from which sequence (1,2,3) (2,3,4) (3,4,5) (1,3,5) are in AP. therefore probability is 4/10= 0.4
