Maths Puzzle
If a boy has a bag containing red, green and blue balls. The total number of balls in the bag is 60.There are 4 times as many red balls as green. 6 more blue balls than green.How many balls of each color a boy have?
Read Solution (Total 3)
-
- Green = 9 ; Blue = 15 ; Red = 36
Let
Green balls = x
Blue balls = (x+6)
Red balls = (4X)
Total :
x+(x+6)+4x = 60
x+4X+x = 60-6
6x = 54
x =9
Green balls, x =9
Blue balls, x+6 = 9+6 = 15
Red balls, 4x = 4(9) = 36
Total = 9+15+36 = 60balls. - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
- Let green balls = x.
Therefore,blue balls are x + 6 and red balls are 4x.
Total balls are 60.
Therefore, (x) + (x+6) + (4x) = 60.
6x + 6 = 60
6x = 54
x = 9
Therefore, green balls are 9, blue balls are 15 and red balls are 36. - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- let green balls=x,red balls=4x,blue balls =(x+6)
=>x+4x+x+6=60
=>x=11
