Age Problem
Jacob is 12 years old. He is 3 times as old as his brother. How old will Jacob be when he is twice as old?
Read Solution (Total 8)
-
- j=12;
j=3b;
b=12/3=4;
twice as old so b=4(now)+(4)=8;
jacob is 12+4=16 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(42) No(1)
- present age of jacob=12
let brother's age b x
3x=12
so x=12/3
= 4
ie brother is 4 yrs now
(twice) 4+4=8
so jacob will b 12+4=16 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(20) No(0)
- j=12
j=3b
therefore 12=3b. hence b=4
so there is a gap of 8 years between jacob and his brother
so when brothers age becomes twice,b=8
so when b=8, j=8(brothers age)+8(age gap)=16 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(0)
- j=12;
j=3b;so, b=4;
12+x=2(4+x);
x=4 years;
so, j(will be)=12+4=16; - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- current age 12
so brothers age = 12/3 = 4
twice = 4+4 = 8
so jacobs age will be 12+4 = 16 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- 16 yrs. Because brother is now 4 yrs old. when he will b 8 years old which will b 4 yrs later,Jacob will b 16 yrs old
- 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- 12+4=16 simple
- 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(10)
- J 12,His Bro....3 times younger:::::3(4)...Actual age 4.......>2(4)==8 then j age will be 12+4
- 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
