- Ans is 130
after burning 1044 candles he can make 1044/9= 116 candles
again by burning 116 candles he can make 116/9= 12 + 0.88 candles
again by burning 12 candles he can make 12/9 = 1 + 0.33 candles
thus total candles made = 116 + 12 + 1 + 0.88 + 0.33= 130 candles Ans. - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(15) No(0)
- 130
1044/9=116
now taking 116 candles
116/9=12 ,8 remaining
now taking 12 candles
12/9=1, 3 remaining
now taking the remaining 8+3=11 candles
11/9=1,remaining 2 which is useless
therefore we will get 116+12+1+1=130 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(10) No(0)

- First 1044/9=116 candles. From that 116 he can make more candles. Divide 116 with 9 you get 12 candles with 8 as remainder. Total candles made until now 116+12=128. Total remained to use 12+8=20. From those 20, 2 can be made. So a total of 120 candles.
