There are 6 task and 6 persons. Task 1 cannot be assigned either to person 1 or to person 2; task 2 must be assigned to either person 3 or to person 4. Every person is to be assigned one task. In how many ways can the assignment be done ?
Read Solution (Total 5)

- 144 ways assignment be done.
Task 2 can be given to two persons only(3 and 4).
So, Number of ways = 2 ways
First task can be done 3 persons.
So, Number of ways = 3 ways.
And other tasks can be done in 4 persons.
So, numbers of ways = 4*3*2*1 = 24 ways
Now, total number of ways = 2*3*24 = 144ways

- 144
when TASK 1 ASSIGNED TO 3,TASK 2SHOULD BE FOR 4 S0 FOR REMAINING:4!
TASK 1 ASSIGNED TO 4,TASK 2SHOULD BE FOR 3 S0 FOR REMAINING:4!
TASK 1 ASSIGNED TO 5,TASK 2SHOULD BE FOR 3 OR 4,WE GET 4! IN EACH OF THE CASE AND SIMILARLY IT HAPPENS WITH 6.
SO WAYS=6*4!=144

- Given that task 2 can be assigned to P3 or P4. So it can be done in 2 ways.
also given task1 can't be assigned to P1 or P2. out of six persons we are having P5,P6 and from P3 or P4 is available so this can be done in 3 ways .still we are having P1,P2,and two from P5,P6,P3,P4 so four persons four tasks which can be done in 4! ways
so Total ways are 4!x3x2 which is 144 - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
