Time Distance and Speed
A is driving on a highway when the police fines him for over speeding and exceeding the limit by 10 km/hr. At the same time B is fined for over speeding by twice the amount by which A exceeded the limit. If he was driving at 35 km/hr what is the speed limit for the road?
Read Solution (Total 7)
-
- excess speed of A=10
SPEED of B=35
as fine of B is double to that of A, so excess speed of B=10*2=20
hence speed limit=35-20=15 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(20) No(2)
- let x be the speed limit
a exceeded speed limit by 10
so x+10
b exceeded speed limit twice that of a
so x+20
for 35km/hr
35=x+20
x=35-20
x=15
so speed limit is 15km/hr - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(12) No(0)

- ans 15km/hr.
let the speed limit be x
speed of A=x+10,Speed of B=x+20
solving x=20=35 we get x=15 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- The speed limit for road is 15Km/hr.
Police fined certain amount to A for overspeeding by exceeding the limit by 10 km/hr while it fined B twice the amount by which it fined A. So B exceeded the limit by 20 Km/hr. As B was driving at the speed of 35 Km/hr, so the speed limit of road was 35-20 = 15 km/hr. - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- B TRAVELING WITH 35KMPH
=>A IS AT 17.5KMPH AND EXCEEDS BY 10KMPH.
SO SPEED LIMIT=17.5-10=7.5KMPH - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(5)
