A bakery opened yesterday with its daily supply of 40 dozen rolls. Half of the rolls were sold by noon and 80 % of the remaining rolls were sold between noon and closing time. How many dozen rolls had not been sold when the bakery closed yesterday?

  Half of the rolls (20 dozen ) were sold by noon and 80 % of the remaining rolls(0.8*20=16 dozen) were sold between noon and closing time.

  half of the rolls were sold by noon ==> 480 / 2 ==> 240 rolls were sold.
  so, remaining rolls ==> 480 - 240 sold rolls ==> 240 rolls were remaining.
  80% of remaining rolls were sold noon & closing time ==> 80% of 240
  ==> 80/100 * 240
  ==> 24 * 8
  ==> 192 rolls.
  That is, 192 rolls from 240 rolls were sold ==> 240 - 192 ==> 48 rolls OR 4 Dozen rolls had not been sold when the bakery closed yesterday.
