TCS Test pattern has changed for 2014 recruitment and following are the changes,

1. New Verbal Ability Section has been added, it will have 1 question for 10 minutes.

The question is to write an Essay / Business Letter of 70-100 words utilizing all different words / phrases of words given as part of question.

Sample: Using the following words write an email with minimum of 70 words to the Customer Mr John Nixon about the delay in the project

Payment Processing System - Schedule - 10th May (Friday) - will not recur - total delay - regret

How the Verbal ability section is assessed?

The test taker will be asked to frame a paragraph of 70-100 words using some words / phrases of words given as the question. The Online Test engine of Touch Stone will automatically assess the Essay/ business letter / Paragraph written by the test taker in-terms of Grammatical correctness and effective utilization of words.

The result is Yes / No, so based on the correctness of Essay in terms of Grammar and utilization of all given words/phrases, the test taker will either be selected or rejected in the Test.

2. Change in Analytical ability section:

There will be two kinds of questions with two respective weightage of marks, ones with * mark and others without * mark
Questions with * mark -> All questions with * carry higher marks than the questions that do not have * mark. And * marked questions are difficult questions.
There will be negative marking for all questions in Analytical Ability Section.

i would like to know that if there is any rule that if we complete the verbal test, then only we could got to analytical ability...or if we did not get through the verbal test..then also we can move on to analytical section...plz clarify my doubt..

D = x+11
A = x+11+23 = x+34
B = x+34+5 = x+39

so (x+x+11+x+34+x+39)/4 = 22
x = 22-21 = 1 = Value of C

a=d+23

as we have to fina the value of c we will write all the above equations in terms of c .

so
d=c+11
a=(d+11)+23=c+34
b=(c+34)+5=c+39

average of all is 22
so
a+b+c+d=22*4

now substituting values we get
c=1

you can analyse from the question that c is the smallest no. in all four of them
so assume c as x

let c=x
d=x+11
a=d+23=x+11+23=x+34
b=a+5= x+34+5=x+39

avg=(a+b+c+d)/4=22
avg=(x+x+11+x+34+x+39)/4=22
4x+84=88
4x=4
x=1
therefore c=1
d=12
a=35
b=40

thn find the value of a, b, d in the form of c
and put it in the avg.. and thn ans is 1

After removing 3&6 from 0-9
unit place will have 8 choice
tens will have 8
hundreds will have 8
but thousands will have 7( coz 0 at thousands place will make a 4 digit number 3 digit one).
Now applying permutation.... 7*8*8*8= 3584 is req ans.

then w must be from {1,2,4,5,7,8,9}
and x,y,z can be from {0,1,2,4,5,7,8,9}
possible numbers = 7*8*8*8=3584
