10 men & 15 women complete half of the work in 12 days and 6 men & 15 women complete one third of the work in 10 days. How many days are required to complete the same full work by taking 10 men and 30 women?
OPtion
1) 12
2) 16
3) 18
4) 20
5) 21
6) 24
7) 27
8) 30
9) data are insufficient
10) none of these
Solution
Assume 1 man in 1 day do x work and 1 women in 1 day do y work.
So
10x + 15y = 1/24
6x + 15y = 1/30
solving we get
x = 1/480
y = 1/720
so 10 men & 30 women in 1 day do 10/48 + 30/720 = 1/16 of work.
Whole work in 16 days.
A share is purchased at a rate of 23.60 and sold at a rate of 36.40. If brokerage at the time of buy and sell is 50 paisa per 100 rupee, then net profit will be. (excluding any other government charges)
for23.60 rs brokerage=11.8paisa
and 36.40 rs brokerage=18.2paisa
so total brokerage=30paisa
total profit=12.80
net profit=total profit-total brokerage
12.50=12.80-12.30
so ans is 12.50
240 students of a school are arranged in rows. If 4 students would be less in a row then 3 more rows will be arranged. Initially total no of rows will be.
60% of 90 is 54.
90% of 60 is 54.
So, 60% of 90 + 90% of 60 = 54 + 54 = 108 = 3% of x^2.
It means 1% of x^2 is (108/3) = 36.
So, 100% of x^2 is (36*100) = 3600.
Hence, x = square root of 3600
=> x = 60
So, correct option is 2) 60.
