The difference between the compounded interest and the simple interest on a certain sum at 10% per annum for 2 years is Rs.52. Find the sum.

Solution

SI = Rs.(x*10/100 * 2) = Rs.x/5
CI = Rs.(x * (1+ 10/100)^2 - x) = Rs. (21x / 100)
Therefore
CI - SI = (21x/100 - x/5) = x/100
So x/100 = 52
x = 5200
Hence sum = Rs. 5200

The diff between for C.I. and S.I. for 2 years are
C.I. - S.I. = P(r/100)^2
52 = P(10/100)^2
P = Rs.5200

C.I-S.I= P(R/100)^2
52=P(10/100)^2
= 5200

Formula: -
Pci - Psi = P(( 1 + R/100) ^ n - ( 1 + nR/100))
putting
Pci - Psi = 52
R = 10
n=2
we get value of P = 5200.. Answer

p=[10000*52]/100=52*100

P(1.1^2)-P= 0.21P
Simple Interest:
P*2*10/100=0.2P
difference= 0.01P
