P can do a work in 12 days. Q can do the same work in 8 days and R can do the same in 6 days. Q and R start the work and leave after 2 days. P finishes the remaining work in X days. What is the value of 1.1X?

Amount of work done by Q and R in 2 days = 2*(1/8 + 1/6) = 2*7/24 = 7/12

Amount of work remaining after 2 days = 5/12

Amount of work done by P in 1 day = 1/12

1/12 work is done by P in 1 day
5/12 work is done by P in 5 days
Hence X=5
So 1.1X = 1.1*5 = 5.5

P,Q,R can do in 12,8,6 days.
Their capacities per day are 1/12, 1/8, 1/6 resectively.
If Q and R joined then their capacity per day is = 1/8 + 1/6=7/24
If they together worked for 2days they complete = 7*2/24=7/12
Remain part = 1- 7/12= 5/12
If P completes the work in X days in then X =5/12. *12/1 = 5
Then 1.1X = 5.5 days.
Hence the right option is 9.,👈

q+r worked together for 2 days I.e 14 units ×2 =28 units
remaining work is completed by p I.e 48-28=20 units

remaining work = 1-(7/12) = 5/12
so
work done by P in one day = 1/12
so total days P will take to complete 5/12 work are = 5 days

If P is doing 100% work in 12 days means he is doing 8.3% work per day similarly Q is doing 12.5%work per day and R is doing 16.6% work per day

so Q+R= 2(12.5+16.6)
so Q+R= 58.2

means Q and R finished 58.2% work in 2 days. Remaining work is 41.8%. And P can do 8.3% work per day.

so 41.8/8.3=5

means P will take 5 days to complete remaining work. So value of X is 5

so 1.1X= 1.1*5 = 5.5
