Solution

Let P & Q denote the sets of Indians who like bikes and scooters respectively. Then
n(P ) = 64, n(Q) = 58 and n(P ∩ Q) = 100.
We know that n( P ∩ Q) = n(P) + n(Q) – n( P ∩ Q )
= 64 + 58 – 100 = 22.
Hence, 22% of the Indians like both bikes and scooters.
