40 m can do in 30d
1m can do in =1200d
Working capacity =1/1200
(40-15=25)m can do in 42 d
=(1/1200)*25*42=7/8
Remaining work =1/8
1/8 th work can do by 15m in =(1/8)÷(15/1200)=(1/8)80=10d
My option is 8👈

40 workers can build a house in 30 days = 40*30= 1200 units
Then, 15 workers left the work,
25 workers build the house in 42 days= 25*42= 1050
So, 15 workers left the work= (1200-1050)/15= 10 days
Hence, My option is (8)

40y+25*(42-y)=40x30
15y= 1200-1050 = 150
y=10
